Where You'll Stay

Annfield Cottage — a colonial heritage homestay

Your home for 4 days, 3 nights

A Gold-rated heritage homestay built across several acres of green, close to Woodstock School — Annfield Cottage is an ancestral, colonial-style property owned and run by Brigadier (Retd) Ravi Dimri and Dr. Sarita Dimri. Every room set is named after a legendary battle or hero of the Kumaon Regiment, and every window opens onto the Doon Valley or the Woodstock forest.

Expect fireside evenings, a working Polyhouse garden that supplies the kitchen, sundowners on The Nest's open sundeck, a private putting green and croquet lawn for lazy afternoons, and Forces-style hospitality that feels less like a hotel stay and more like being hosted.

Why Here

Mussoorie & Landour

The "Queen of the Hills" and its quieter, older sibling — chosen deliberately, not incidentally.

Landour sits just above Mussoorie's bustle — a scatter of colonial-era cottages, deodar forests and cobbled lanes where the loudest sound is usually a langur on a tin roof, the same lanes that recently played backdrop to Netflix's Musafir Cafe. Annfield Cottage is a short drive up from the main road, with those quiet cobbled lanes just a stroll from the gate.

The Winterline

A horizon you can only see from two places on earth

Each evening between October and February, Mussoorie's ridge puts on a phenomenon called the Winterline — a false, glowing horizon of deep reds, mauves and inky blue that forms as cold mountain air traps warmer, dust-laden air rising from the Doon Valley below. It's visible from exactly two places in the world: Mussoorie, and the Swiss Alps. We land during the season for it — no promises on any given evening, but the odds are in our favour.

The Walk to Bakehouse

A quiet cobbled lane, ending in fresh bread

Just beyond the gate, a quiet lane threads through deodar and oak toward Landour Bakehouse — langurs on tin roofs the loudest interruption. It's an easy, unhurried walk, and one of Landour's simplest pleasures.

Four days inside one of India's most storied hill stations — forest walks, mountain light, and the kind of quiet that's hard to manufacture back home.

Why A Women's Retreat

Space that isn't shared with everyone else's needs

Most of the women who'll be in this room are used to being the one who holds things together — at work, at home, for everyone else. Anhād is built on a simple idea: for four days, no one here needs to perform, caretake, or explain themselves.

There's a particular kind of ease that happens in a room made only of women — conversations go deeper faster, movement feels less self-conscious, rest feels less like something to apologise for. That's not incidental to Anhād. It's the whole design.

  • Grounded, effortless wellness — nothing extreme, no performance required.
  • A real pause from the pace of the city and the pace of caregiving.
  • Company of women who show up fully, without an audience to manage.
  • No prior experience needed — just an open mind and a little space for yourself.
